Grief & Loss
Grief is a natural response to loss.
Throughout the process of grief, we discover that like many things, grief is a process—not an event.
It is the emotional pain that we feel when someone that we love, leaves us. Often, the pain of a loss is devastating and overwhelming.
Responses to grief can range anywhere between shock, guilt, rage and deep despair. Grief can also disrupt your physical health by compromising your sleep, appetite, or even your ability to think rationally.
Coping with any loss can be one of life’s biggest challenges for most of us. And although we might associate grief with the death of a loved one or animal, death is not the only time we experience grief in our lives. People may also experience grief from other losses in their life, including job loss or even a relationship with a marriage or partner.
As devastating as a loss may be, it is important to remember that feelings are like anything else—they change.
And while grieving a loss is an inevitable part of life, at Legacy there are always ways for us to help you cope with the pain. Ultimately, we will help you come to terms with the significance of your loss and allow you to discover how your new found resiliency will enable you to “break open” and meet the version of yourself that you were always intended to be.
You don’t have to experience grief and loss alone.
Legacy has caring and experienced clinicians that will support and stand united with you as we find your strength to heal.
So come celebrate.
Celebrate the spirit of those that have surrounded you…as well as the ones that are now needed someplace else.
